It’s not often when support bands are just as good as the main band, but Aborted and Scepticflesh bought force to the Underworld. Perhaps it was the sound at the venue, but it showed evidence the brutality of both bands, causing fans to create chaos all around.
There was still energy left for Kataklysm, with mosh pits galore and watching grown men having to take a break was amusing to me. Songs like Thy Serpents Tongue, Soul Destroyer, Manipulator of Souls, Where the Enemy Sleeps and The Ambassador of Pain were highlights of the show. The momentum was kept alive with a great setlist, that showed off the band on stage especially with lead frontman, Maurizio who carried the crowd to end of the show. Death metal is still alive and well in the UK, it may be just growing in small venues, but that’s okay, as the passion is there.
