So it’s the middle of 2013, and there’s still a whole lot of albums to come for the rest of the year, for us to grab and jam out to when we eventually hold on to the albums. Many bands are coming back from hiatus and bands who making their rounds to bring an impact in the rock and metal community.
Here are the albums we are most looking forward to this year!
- Alter bridge – Unknown album title
Alter bridge are coming back from a 2 year hiatus since their last gig at Wembley in 2011, and after Myles Kennedy getting busy with Slash and Mark Tremonti doing his solo project as well as Creed, it’s time to come back to the Alter Bridge camp. The band has no name for the album as of yet or even a release date , but there are many updates and photos from the members working on the new album. With every update, comes more excitement and a little more closer to the finished project. Alter Bridge will be headlining an October UK tour with Shinedown and Halestorm.
- DevilDriver – Winter Kills
Winter Kills is set to be released on 27th August, anticipated as the most cohesive and powerful sounding album to date in their career. We’ll be looking forward to this considering we saw them rip apart The Forum a few months ago with Cannibal Corpse.
- Dream Theater – Dream Theater
Duh. It’s Dream Theater, of course this is an album to look out for. The album will be released on September 24th and this may be the band’s 12th album, it shows there is no signs of stopping the band. It is promised to be just as cinematic , atmospheric and intense.
- Ayreon – The Theory of Everything
Ayreon will be releasing another double album , there is no release date yet but there have been teasers of the album. Arjen is hoping to bring out the album at the end of the year. He said to a youtube comment how the album is about ” human relationships and the emotional costs that come with treading the fine line between genius and madness.”
- Behemoth – The satanist
Behemoth, The satanist will come out worldwide sometime in Autumn 2013. Frontman, Nergal said said on the website that ” While our new songs artistically take surprisingly adventurous directions, our message stands steadfast—Proud and Radical.THE SATANIST stands for undying yearning for liberation and love for freedom in all aspects of life”
Well lets see what happens …but it’s been said that there have been bits and pieces added to the album and are still in the writing process.
- Judas Priest – Untitled
A release date is hoping to be at the end of the year.
- Pearl Jam – Untitled
The album is yet to be named aswell as a release date but hopes to be the end of the year or early 2014. Mike McCready boldly said that the album will be better than Backspacer.
